AWARENESS CAMPAIGN | EDITORIAL ZINE

The Rwandan Genocide, also known as the genocide against the Tutsi, was a mass slaughter of the Tutsi in Rwanda during the Rwandan Civil War. This started in 1990. It was directed by members of the Hutu major government during the 100 day period from April 07 to mid July 1994.

Using double exposure i was able to combine a photograph from a small child in Rwanda and an image of the globe. I edited the photograph to limit the colour from both images to enhance the title.

For a serious campaign like this i felt i needed to use bold, strong colours that balance well against one another. The red symbolised the blood of the victims, black for the dark acts and finally white and as symbol of hope for the future of conflict.
